It’s alright, but it didn’t quite live up to what I expected given how much I liked Ralph Bakshi’s earlier Spider-Man animated series from the nineteen sixties. The animation and a really good soundtrack—they feel wonderfully old-fashioned—help distract from a script that's pretty weak and lacks imagination. Honestly, I think I would have preferred seeing Shirley Clarke’s movie with a comparable title made in the sixties.
