The movie recounts the emergence of a novel virus and its progression into a global pandemic. It presents events straightforwardly, without much in the way of action sequences, building suspense, or heightened drama; however, this detached, matter-of-fact approach, combined with recent real-world experiences like Covid, renders it surprisingly frightening—more so than many horror films I’ve encountered. The acting is superb across the board.
