This movie shouldn’t have been dismissed as just another forgettable one. The title, the plot, and the acting all met my expectations. I went in expecting something dull. It did start out slow, especially at the beginning. But a development that appeared roughly halfway through really brought the story to life. Since I wasn't sure what was coming next, I found myself enjoying it for the remainder of the time. The entire thing unfolded over the course of a single day; most of the action actually happened during one night. There was a brief glimpse of events from different points in time at the start, just to persuade us of something. Alice, who made friends with a man during lunch, agrees to go to his friend’s birthday party. However, that evening things change when some truths about her are brought to light. The story then shifts direction and takes on a new kind of adventure, revealing more details about her. I've heard people say they saw it for Shannon, but I thought Rachel Weisz was the reason this film turned out so well. It’s one of the most overlooked films of the year, really distinctive. It doesn’t have the familiar feel of many other movies, which made it hard to guess what would happen next. The suspense kept me engaged and on edge until the very end. I'd be interested in seeing more of the story, perhaps in a follow-up installment. That seems like an intriguing possibility. Ignore what movie reviewers are saying; this is absolutely worth watching. _7/10_
