I really liked *Companion*! I unexpectedly knew some of what this movie was about because of the trailers—I didn’t even go looking for them, but somehow I still picked up on the premise. Fortunately, it wasn't a problem since the film reveals its central idea pretty early on. Initially, I worried that knowing too much would be an issue, and though it runs just ninety minutes, I questioned whether there was enough substance to make it entertaining throughout. But I was mistaken! It’s consistently fun to watch, with a comfortable rhythm to everything. Sophie Thatcher is fantastic; her performance stands out and feels very believable. That appearance covered in blood looks really good. The other actors aren't quite as strong as Thatcher, but they all contribute positively to the film, especially Jack Quaid and Lukas Gage. Because it’s so short, the movie goes by quickly. It’s a great film! I watched it in theaters alongside *Hard Truths*, as part of a double feature. This one was much more humorous than Mike Leigh's picture. I would suggest both films.
