I can't quite put my finger on it, but going into this movie, I wasn’t anticipating much. Maybe it’s because stories centered around vengeance aren’t usually what I go for. However, I ended up enjoying Cold Pursuit, possibly more than some other critics did. It proved to be pretty entertaining, with moments of humor, snappy conversations, and a few unexpected turns in the story. And, as an added bonus, I'm a fan of Liam Neeson. There’s a kid in the film who seems wiser and more perceptive than the grown-ups around him; his appearances are nice breaks from the intense action. It's an action movie, so I didn’t expect deep character development or complexity in the side stories. I simply settled in and let myself have fun.
