Allen Leech has been pulled from the comfort of "Downton" and placed into a much more unsettling setting, where he’s tasked with diffusing a conflict between “Ana” (Nina Bergman) and her former partner, “Vincent” (Yan Tual), at an isolated diner. Shortly after, he finds himself traveling on icy roads while being pursued by another vehicle, only to end up in an accident, which leads the narrative down an increasingly absurd path involving something concealed in the trunk. The question becomes whether he’ll make it through and if his survival is even worth investing in. While director Sébastien Drouin does utilize the bleak winter landscape to build a feeling of oppressive dread as snow accumulates on the car and circumstances worsen, the performances are nearly as uninspired as the direction—which itself isn't much better than the script. The story stumbles along with what seems like cheap fixes, consistently moving in illogical directions and ultimately getting stuck. It’s best to skip this entirely; it feels like a very inexpensive production, more akin to an instructional video for people just starting out in film.
