Coherence is a science fiction film that presents a genuinely intriguing and perplexing narrative. The plot itself is clever, straightforward, and remarkably absorbing. I found the depiction of the characters' gradual descent into confusion as they came to understand their involvement in multiple realities to be both suspenseful and captivating. The unexpected turns kept me intrigued, and the resolution—the way all elements ultimately connect—provided a satisfying sense of completion. However, I was disappointed by the film’s visual presentation. While I acknowledge that it was made on a limited budget, this doesn't justify the frequent use of unsteady camera work and blurry images. These technical shortcomings detracted from my enjoyment, particularly given how strong the storyline was. A tripod and improved lenses could have significantly enhanced the viewing experience. The filmmakers may have intended the shaky style to heighten tension, but in my view, it simply appeared careless and diverted attention. Despite this flaw, I appreciated the film's premise and its realization—with the exception of the visual aspects. Coherence demonstrates that a substantial budget isn’t essential for crafting an excellent story, though greater care with the cinematography could have raised its quality considerably.
