Those who appreciate stories centered around complex ideas about quantum physics will likely find "Coherence" appealing. Many narratives involving quantum mechanics—like entanglement and superposition—typically explore these phenomena on an extremely small scale, such as with electrons or particles, then suggest that similar occurrences could be possible for larger things like people and objects in the everyday world. “Coherence” uses a disturbing dinner party setup reminiscent of "The Invitation" and incorporates the quantum concept of coherence alongside the “many-worlds interpretation,” which is set off by a comet’s appearance. It's best to go into this film knowing very little beforehand so you can experience the unfolding mystery. Although it starts out somewhat slow, the filmmakers deliver a satisfying conclusion.
