A pre-teen African American boy, Kareem, learns that his mother is involved in a relationship with a middle-aged white police officer nicknamed "Coffee." I believe this situation is intended to be humorous. Displeased by this development, he enlists the help of a neighborhood criminal to frighten the cop away, but the plan goes wrong and he finds himself needing to collaborate with someone he usually clashes with in order to avoid trouble from both a street gang and their superiors who are involved in drug trafficking. The film's humor is sparse, similar to Sir Patrick Stewart’s hairstyle; additionally, the music is excessively loud and grating, much like the relentless stream of profanity coming from nearly every character throughout the movie’s runtime. If this type of production represents Netflix’s current approach with their higher subscription costs, it’s easy to understand why Disney+ is gaining popularity.
