I’m puzzled by the poor ratings for "Codename Devil," as it's actually a pretty good military action film. The narrative is simple but gives sufficient background and substance to set up some very well-executed and intense action sequences. The gunfights, in particular, feel realistic. It offers a believable portrayal of how private contractors could function. The performances are quite good as well. I found myself connecting with the central character and feeling empathy for him and other veterans struggling to readjust to civilian life. The only slight drawback is that the conclusion didn't entirely satisfy; it seemed like it could have benefited from a bit more development. Overall, this is a solid military action thriller coming out of Poland, combining a believable backstory with impressive shooting sequences. It’s definitely worth watching.
