I didn't find myself particularly engaged by Code 8, even though I did finish watching it. It's possible my reaction was unusual, but I would have appreciated a deeper exploration of the reasons behind society’s treatment of those with abilities—reducing them to something close to second-class citizens. That aspect could have made for more captivating viewing than following Connor’s journey into criminal activity or his mother’s predictable health struggles. While constrained by its specific storyline and a small cast of characters, it wasn't terrible, though it fell short of being truly good.
