It felt overwhelming to sit through so much Code 8 in one go, and I ended up fast-forwarding through quite a bit of it. The movie brought back memories of the first installment, which makes me wonder if I should have even bothered with that one initially. The character Aibo didn't really work for me; he was just kind of silly. Despite that, the ending was genuinely charming and heartwarming. There were some enjoyable action scenes mixed in there, though the overall length felt excessive.
