Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky isn’t terrible, but it also doesn’t have much that stands out as exceptional, from my perspective. The performances, with Mads Mikkelsen and Anna Mouglalis taking the lead, are adequate; the music is genuinely good—I'd even call it the film's best aspect—though most everything else feels disappointing or just ordinary. This movie, released in 2009, presents nicely visually, but I was hoping for more from it. Mikkelsen and Mouglalis do their jobs well enough, though the acting doesn’t really lift the film up as much as it needed to because of a fairly uninspired storyline. I don't object to a deliberate pace, but there ought to be some kind of resolution at the finish... which isn't present here. It was interesting to discover more about these two figures, though.
