The storyline does get a bit stretched out eventually, but overall I found this ridiculous action-adventure film to be quite enjoyable. It begins with a man dropping packages from an airplane before he hits his head on the doorframe while exiting, in mid-air, and then the police are identifying the deceased and a sizable duffel bag containing cocaine. Where did the rest go? Well, located near the original "glory hole" at Cagney's Cavern, a bear is having a wonderful time – and eating just about anything that comes along its way—including Scandinavian tourists as a starter! Two kids, “Dee Dee” (Brooklyn Prince) and “Henry” (Christian Convery), skip school to go see a waterfall, and soon after her mother and the spirited park ranger "Liz" (Margo Martindale) are all attempting to locate them while staying ahead of the progressively impaired top predator. There are humorous scenes, frightening moments—frankly absurd moments; Martindale and young Convery provide some amusement as well, and there's even a small lesson to be learned from “Eddie” (Alden Ehrenreich), who is set on leaving his father’s drug business – a ruthless man named "Syd" (Ray Liotta). It doesn’t happen often that people laugh out loud in movie theaters these days, but they did—and I did too—tonight. It's not exactly complex or brilliant, but it's definitely entertaining and the bear has some impressive skills as well!
