Clown in a Cornfield proved to be an unexpected good time within recent horror releases. The initial setup felt familiar—a traditional small town, a set of disaffected young people, and a killer hiding behind a mask—but the film soon established its own distinct character with insightful commentary and a skillful use of slasher movie conventions. The cast delivered believable performances, Eli Craig’s direction was assured, and there's plenty of dark humor throughout. The movie connects with who it’s meant for by offering bloody thrills alongside meaningful themes, although not every concept is completely developed and some plot points seemed somewhat contrived. It presents a darkly humorous look at a community avoiding the truth, where history won’t stay quiet… even when it's physically hidden in a cornfield. Rating: B
