I’ve been consistently impressed with Smith's work in comic books, and this is the first film of his that I’ve had a chance to watch behind the camera. My friends who share my interest in movies often criticize his more recent projects, but I found this one quite pleasing. I appreciate the impact he has made on independent filmmaking. It’s clear that 1994 was a significant year for it, with films like 'Clerks' and 'Pulp Fiction' achieving widespread popularity through smaller studios. I would prefer to see him continue directing movies that he also writes. There seems to be a desire within him to explore new avenues, but I’m not sure how he can do so without losing the support of his large following. I have faith in his abilities and believe that if he invests himself fully, he has the potential to become an exceptional filmmaker rather than just a competent one. To achieve this, it might benefit him to spend less time with comic books and more time watching films, especially those by classic Hollywood directors like Sir Alfred Hitchcock, Howard Hawks, Raoul Walsh, and John Ford. It would be fascinating to see what he creates once his creativity is revitalized.
