It wasn’t particularly remarkable. *Christmas in Evergreen*, the initial installment of this set of four movies, is acceptable for holiday viewing, though it didn’t really stick with me. I do enjoy seeing Ashley Williams as Allie, but the other performers don't leave a strong mark. The narrative is passable; it has enough Christmas spirit, but the writing feels ordinary. Even with the explicit title, a significant portion of the movie focuses on an extended “will they or won’t they” dynamic that I found tedious. The storyline involving Santa also felt excessively sentimental. After the initial question is eventually answered, the remainder of the plot unfolds acceptably but without distinction. It's not something I would call poor, just barely. I intend to watch the subsequent films anyway.
