The movie lacks a lot besides its cast; I’m certainly not suggesting the performances are outstanding, but Tatyana Ali and Sean Patrick Thomas were enjoyable enough within the context of a predictable holiday TV movie. Sheryl Lee Ralph stood out among the others. The rest of the film felt disappointing, and the storyline dragged—it doesn't help that the townspeople change their minds about the hotel very rapidly.
