There were some amusing moments, but overall I didn't find him very genuine or relatable as a comedian. The beginning was promising, but then he fell into familiar patterns of black-and-white thinking that I found tiresome. It gave the impression that he hasn’t moved beyond discussions about race; it seemed like his identity is still strongly tied to it. He also repeated himself frequently, which made him seem overly dramatic and as if he was trying too hard to generate excitement. While a few of the jokes were genuinely funny, generally I believe he's far behind other comedians who come across as more real. It’s clear he wants to be seen as brave and insightful like Chappelle, but he doesn’t quite reach that level. He seems to benefit primarily from his celebrity status and knows how to capitalize on it. Compared to his previous specials, this one was a bit better; he seemed bolder, which I appreciated.
