This film is striking, both in its visuals and in the way it explores human emotions. It’s essentially a story of a father and son—portrayed by Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobson—who embark on a lengthy trip across Australia to go fishing at the country's northernmost point. Following the sudden loss of their wife and mother, these two men, who have always struggled to connect due to seemingly insurmountable differences, find themselves on this journey that promises revelations, honesty, discomfort, and perhaps even some moments of levity. The cinematography showcasing the Australian landscape (Roger Lanser’s work) is remarkable, as is the straightforwardness of the script. Hogan and Jacobson both demonstrate considerable talent in their delivery of humor and poignant emotional beats. Director Dean Murphy avoids heavy-handed messaging, instead allowing viewers to experience a genuine journey that offers encouragement to those needing a nudge forward—because it's true, life really does pass by quickly. It’s an enjoyable and uplifting film with genuinely funny moments, and I feel it should have a wider audience. It earns a rating of 8/10.
