A woman who struggles with romantic relationships finds herself entangled with a man still affected by a previous partnership. A young child, along with a group of helpers, attempts to engineer a connection between them. The basic elements aren't significantly different from the usual formula found in movies on the Hallmark Channel. The way it’s presented isn’t much of a departure either. There aren’t many unexpected developments or surprises. The woman, who has difficulty dating, encounters a series of overly dramatic potential partners and deals with an assertive sister constantly attempting to ground her. After making eye contact with an attractive artist at an event, the woman, Sam, contacts him through his website. A predictable development occurs—if you’ve seen similar movies before—as it turns out the artist's son manages the site and initiates interactions with women on behalf of his father. It isn't as unsettling as it might initially seem. The son is orchestrating these encounters so that his dad, Heath, can meet someone suitable. This naturally leads to Sam traveling by train to the family’s home. Heath is unaware of Sam’s identity, Sam feels awkward, and the movie continues along a familiar path. The writers introduce another unexpected element: Heath has an assistant who seems quite fond of him, though he doesn't appear to notice her feelings. After spending some time together outdoors, they develop romantic feelings for each other (within a few days). Predictably, Heath unintentionally causes Sam pain, and she departs in tears. He then arrives on horseback to take her away to London. If you’re searching for a film that will challenge your intellect, choose another one. However, if you want an easy way to pass ninety minutes and are in the mood for a lighthearted romance, this is not the worst option available.
