The animated version of 'Casper’s Haunted Christmas' was predictable given how disappointing the partially animated scenes have been in the live-action sequels. This film, released in 2000, feels unnecessarily long and tedious even with its roughly eighty-minute length; it’s just a boring movie to watch and experience. Brendon Ryan Barrett, despite seemingly trying his best, doesn't quite suit the voice of Casper because of his deeper vocal register – the character really needs to sound younger. It’s noteworthy that Barrett previously played a central child role in 'Casper: A Spirited Beginning'. I will concede one small positive about this film: the jokes are, comparatively speaking, not terrible. I managed a few minor laughs from one or two moments, which is something, even though it doesn’t improve the overall quality of the production. At this stage, the most engaging aspect of these films has become observing the changes in the production companies involved. The earlier movies were made by respected studios like Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures, while the first couple of sequels came from Saban Entertainment and The Harvey Entertainment Company, and now it's mostly just the latter handling this one and the next installment. It’s impressive that they’ve managed to keep the series going for so long!
