I had a strong sense of familiarity with this movie, but I can’t recall what it was actually about. *Casper* is one of those films I must have watched repeatedly as a child on video; the beginning moments brought back some pleasant memories. However, like I mentioned, I didn't really remember much substantive detail from this 1995 movie. It turns out to be more layered than my childhood memory suggests, with some mature topics explored—the ending scenes especially stood out in that respect. I did recall the actors involved, though. Malachi Pearson is a great choice for the voice of the main character, and Christina Ricci does well in her live-action part. Bill Pullman leads the rest of the cast effectively. I should note that Devon Sawa appears as a young actor; I recently saw him on television’s *'Chucky'*—which I would suggest checking out, if you are interested. Also, Clint Eastwood has a brief appearance, and so does a recognizable ghost investigator. It’s interesting to see that only four sequels have come about because of this initial film.
