This French adventure film has its moments, and I found Jean-Paul Belmondo’s acting to be enjoyable; however, his character felt unlikeable, particularly toward the conclusion when he goes after the queen even though he himself has a beautiful wife—named Venus, of all things. It left me with an unpleasant feeling about his choices. Fortunately, Claudia Cardinale was excellent (and it's great to see her still active according to her IMDb page), and most of the action scenes were diverting. **3.0/5**
