It struck me that Carter resembles a Hardcore Henry adaptation, but with Korean influences. The film employs an intense, action-packed approach—a constant barrage of fighting and violence—and has a distinct video game feel. While this worked effectively in Hardcore Henry, I didn’t find it quite as successful here. I suspect one reason is that, unlike Hardcore Henry, the pacing isn't as tight or the presentation as refined. The backstory also feels underdeveloped, failing to significantly enhance the central concept. Ultimately, the experience felt a bit directionless and unremarkable. Essentially, it’s reasonably entertaining but loses its momentum when it should be truly captivating.
