A shadowy organization called "STENCH" aims to eliminate something unspecified from the globe, placing the world in peril. Faced with this threat, the head of MI6 has to rely on the clumsy Simkins (played by Kenneth Williams) to resolve matters. He’s joined by three novice agents and must outmaneuver the formidable Dr. Crow – imagine a magnified version of Rosa Klebb. The film spoofs numerous sources, including "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "007," and "The Third Man," even incorporating some harp music. During their mission, Crump (Bernard Cribbins) develops an infatuation with Honeybutt (Barbara Windsor’s debut role), who also possesses a photographic memory! The story culminates in Vienna, where the team must prevent Dr. Crow from acquiring “Hydroformulin.” This is typical "Carry On" entertainment, and it was nice to experience a film without Sid James' characteristic brand of humor. While the movie feels drawn out and repeats jokes too frequently, the cast seems to be enjoying themselves, which improves the viewing experience. It isn’t the strongest installment in the series, but the script is adequate, providing acceptable diversion even if easily forgotten.
