This is another stylish production featuring Astaire and Rogers, benefiting from Irving Berlin’s “Change Partners and Dance With Me,” though this one stretches believability a bit more than "Top Hat" does. Fred Astaire takes on the task of hypnotizing his wealthy friend Ralph Bellamy's girlfriend (Ginger Rogers) with the goal of strengthening their bond. However, the hypnosis backfires, leading to widespread confusion as people end up falling for the wrong individuals, leaving everyone feeling disoriented and perplexed by the finale. Despite this, it remains an enjoyable narrative, especially with "The Yam," which is memorable because Ginger Rogers performs it solo and does a surprisingly good job; I’ve never considered her a particularly gifted singer. Clarence Kolb also provides some genuine cheerfulness as “Judge Travers.” Even so, it's still agreeable to watch after more than eighty years, and certainly deserving of your time.
