I thought Captain Phillips was excellent all the way through. The acting stood out, and it included what I consider to be one of Tom Hanks’ finest roles. Seeing him remain composed during a crisis was really engaging, but even more impressive was how that composure dissolved afterward; it felt completely authentic. His depiction of trauma felt very real and is among the most remarkable performances I've encountered. Despite its almost two-and-a-half-hour length, the film maintained a good rhythm and kept me consistently on edge. There were numerous moments where I found myself anxious, whether it was watching the pirates get dangerously close to grabbing one of the crew or observing their boat slowly approach. This continuous feeling of suspense, combined with a strong script and narrative, really held my attention from beginning to end. Score: 89% Verdict: Excellent
