I didn't go into this film knowing anything about what’s been happening with it, and unfortunately, it lived up to my fears—it was dull. The action sequences were poorly staged, and Brie Larson’s performance felt wooden. I also found the camerawork distracting because of how frequently they cut from shot to shot. Samuel L. Jackson and Goose stole the show, and Mendelsohn did a fantastic job as Talos. The film seemed overly dependent on references to the 1990s. It's hard to believe when an animal has more charisma than the lead performer.
