I found *Capone* to be underwhelming. It wasn’t what I thought it would be; I hadn’t really heard much about the movie beforehand, but given Tom Hardy was cast, I assumed it would be a complete film centered on Al Capone. That isn't necessarily a flaw in itself, however, when combined with questionable storytelling, it feels like a missed opportunity. Hardy’s performance as Al is easily the strongest aspect of the film, and honestly, I believe he could have brought even more to this kind of character if the filmmakers had given him the chance. The supporting cast doesn't offer anything particularly memorable, although Linda Cardellini as Mae and Kyle MacLachlan as Karlock are acceptable. I can’t say there’s anything I strongly dislike about it; I simply hoped for a great deal more. It does prompt some thought, at least, but ultimately I don't believe the film achieved what it set out to do.
