It wasn’t a good movie; I doubt I’ll revisit it, and I can’t suggest it to anyone. I had hoped to enjoy returning to a time when Christopher Lloyd was doing silly things, but this turned out to be underwhelming. The plot revolves around wealthy, privileged children manipulating their parents into paying for a scheme designed to get them out of the house during summer vacation—essentially forming a criminal enterprise to pull it off. There are parallels with "Accepted," though in that film, the characters—adults facing a predicament—tried to make things better. Here, the deception is established from the start, and the children simply go along with creating a fake camp. This movie just misses the enjoyable quality its later version has, which likely comes down to the performances of the young actors; they aren't awful, but mostly represent standard child acting. While there are some amusing parts, the story itself is seriously flawed, and we don’t need a moral lesson showing that this character will regret his actions and realize he was mistaken.
