It felt like I was finally seeing what I’d hoped for from Aniston. Since her relationship with Brad Pitt ended, and particularly after 'Marley & Me', she hadn't delivered a truly memorable performance. This feels like her strongest work so far, possibly even of her entire career. An Oscar wouldn’t have been likely, but overlooking her for a nomination didn’t seem right. It seems that men often improve with age, while women don’t always follow the same path. I used to enjoy Aniston's performances, but now it's hard to say. Her choice to appear without makeup in this film seemed like an authentic decision. The storytelling wasn't captivating, but the focus was entirely on Aniston's acting. There are a few brief appearances by other actors; really, most of the characters feel minor, including Sam Worthington’s—everyone except the central character. It’s worth watching just to see her performance, not because of the plot itself. The backstory could have been more clearly explained to reveal the full story alongside what's happening now. While I appreciate that it felt realistic, sometimes films need a bit more detail instead of simply presenting things directly. Overall, it's a good movie, though it wasn’t exceptional enough to truly celebrate the directing or presentation—it almost had the potential to be something amazing. 7/10
