This film quickly became one of my top picks; I don’t consider myself a skilled reviewer, but what really struck me was how effectively Natasha Lyonne and Clea DuVall portrayed such compelling personalities. Megan and Graham feel like fully realized people, and witnessing them achieve their happy ending is exactly what I hoped for in a film like this. RuPaul's inclusion felt like a pleasant surprise, especially given the amusing nature of his part. Seeing Dante Basco was also great; I’m a big fan of his other performances, such as Zuko from ATLA and Rufio in Hook. (There are so many obscure references to pick up on—Homestuck, for example. One character, Rufioh, seems to be based on Dante's persona, and he even contributed some voice work to a Voxus Lets Read Homestuck recording! Grey Delisle, who voiced Azula in ATLA, also did some brief lines for Vriska at one point. I believe Dante was quite fond of Homestuck back then and invited her to do those lines, though I'm not entirely certain.) The film’s core message, as stated by Natasha Lyonne, is simply "Be gay." Ultimately, I consider this an outstanding movie with characters you can’t help but care about, and I would absolutely suggest it to others.
