I find your God unsettling; frankly, He frightens me. Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans lead this film, with Sandler playing a criminal and Wayans as a police officer, and the story involves them being forced to team up to take down a major crime boss (James Caan). The premise seemed ripe for an energetic action-comedy in the tradition of buddy cop movies. Unfortunately, the humor doesn’t quite land; the filmmakers seem compelled to rely on very basic jokes in an attempt to elicit laughs. Occasionally, there's a line that gets a chuckle, but it's usually followed by stretches of pointless material, which are then abruptly interrupted by intense action scenes (as if the creators were worried about losing the attention of viewers expecting genre thrills). A potential friendship develops alongside some regrettable jokes with homophobic implications—a gag involving a revolver feels particularly out of place—and there’s a risk it could become an odd parallel to *Brokeback Mountain* within the buddy cop action movie landscape. There's even a sense of misogyny woven into the story. The actors are let down by substandard writing and direction, but they also don’t manage to create any real chemistry between their characters, which makes the dialogue feel lifeless. It’s difficult to reconcile this with their previous work together on films like *The Wedding Singer* and *The Last Boy Scout*. This feels like a squandered opportunity for something genuinely entertaining. The movie is only somewhat redeemed by its action sequences and fights—if that's what you're looking for. I also wonder about James Caan’s involvement; was he just doing it for the money? 5/10
