Chow Yun-Fat and Sean William Scott team up for a movie centered around recovering an old scroll from antagonists, with plenty of martial arts action involved. Essentially, that's the gist of it. The two leads are very different people who eventually unite during a string of fight sequences—these scenes elicit both laughter and enjoyment due to the disparity between the characters. The writing isn’t great; much of the dialogue feels forced and clumsy. It seems like Yun-Fat is miscast in a role that doesn't do him justice. The plot includes elements such as a villain with Nazi connections, a female fight scene, and Sean William Scott abandoning his past to embrace the samurai code—or something along those lines. It’s mindless entertainment that manages to be amusing, but also completely disposable. 5/10
