What a great time! I honestly didn’t have high hopes for *'Bullet Train'* going in. The (extremely frequent) trailer didn’t really grab me, and I figured the whole train setting would be a gimmick or maybe even feel restrictive. But it turned out to be quite the opposite of what I expected – it's incredibly entertaining and genuinely funny! I really like the film’s style; the editing is excellent, the violent scenes look great, and the music choices are spot on—every song works perfectly. Plus, there's a fantastic cast involved. Based on what I saw in the trailers, I thought it would be just another Brad Pitt movie, but his performance is wonderful all the way through. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry make an excellent pair; I worried their accents and how they interacted might become annoying, but actually, I liked them more with each appearance – they’re hilarious! Joey King was the only character who didn't quite click for me at first, although by the end I appreciated her performance too. Andrew Koji and Hiroyuki Sanada are also very good, while Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio (aka Bad Bunny), and Zazie Beetz all make welcome additions to the cast. There are a few other people who stand out as well, including two that Pitt has worked with in another movie from 2022. Seriously, what an ensemble! If I had to pick at something, it would be the length and how quickly things moved—this is just me being picky, but there were a couple of times I thought the pacing could have been better. It’s not a big deal though. Overall, I really enjoyed this film and would absolutely recommend it. However, if you're looking for an even better movie that takes place entirely on a train, then you should definitely check out *'Source Code'*—it’s one of my favorites!
