I went into this not anticipating much, but I was pleasantly surprised. *Brother Bear 2* has elements that feel familiar and relies on a predictable Disney romantic storyline, and the ending didn’t quite hit the mark, just like the first one. Despite those issues, it's still a worthwhile and agreeable continuation of the story. The new additions to the cast are entertaining, while the established characters remain true to themselves. The visuals are comparable to the 2003 movie, creating a consistent look. Patrick Dempsey’s performance as Kenai is perhaps superior to Joaquin Phoenix’s, or at least his vocal delivery feels more appropriate. I appreciate Phil Collins' music, but it’s noticeably better in this installment. Considering everything, it doesn’t quite measure up to the original film. Nevertheless, it has its strengths and deserves recognition for those qualities.
