Brooklyn (2015) A Beautiful and Moving Film - A Love Story. August 26, 2016 – 2 out of 2 users found this review helpful. It's a lovely film that really touches you. The story unfolds in a way that quickly makes you invested in the characters. The visuals are gorgeous, particularly the close-up shots, and it’s clear the filmmakers had an affinity for Saoirse Ronan. Her journey to America, Brooklyn, is portrayed with such efficiency and impact; you can almost experience what it was like traveling on that ship. Feeling lonely and missing her mother and sister back home, she builds a life for herself in Brooklyn. But does she remain there? The acting is superb, including Julie Waters, Jessica Pare, and Jim Broadbent among others. The costumes felt genuine, and the gentle, warm tones created an almost dreamlike atmosphere. Ultimately, Saoirse carries the entire film; her performance is completely believable. When she’s feeling homesick, you understand it, you can sense it. I really enjoyed "BROOKLYN."
