I’ve heard people suggest simply letting go and enjoying a film without being overly concerned with the story, but I couldn't do that with the 2021 Bond installment. Following that advice after having a genuinely good time with this movie was surprising, given the negative reactions some viewers have expressed. Certain points raised in the criticism are valid; for instance, the narrative foundation isn’t fully clarified, and it’s puzzling why orcs would be reviled when their ancestors were instrumental in defeating an evil power centuries earlier. Nevertheless, what stood out to me was its originality as a visually impressive fantasy experience, centered on an orc protagonist who, despite facing rejection, embodies admirable qualities like integrity, courage, and warmth. Will Smith delivered a compelling performance as a hero hesitant to embrace his role. The action sequences were gripping without being overwhelming, and the humor felt genuinely amusing because of the character’s purehearted nature. It resonated with me personally, and I wholeheartedly suggest seeing it.
