Bridget Jones’s Baby works well as a continuation of the story, easily surpassing the film from 2004. It features an actual storyline and feels more complete overall—the final scenes are quite charming. Even though it runs longer than the other films in the series, the pacing is handled effectively. Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth return to their roles successfully, and Patrick Dempsey makes a welcome appearance. The film integrates the new characters with those from previous installments seamlessly (with one noticeable absence), and Sarah Solemani stands out among the supporting cast across all three movies. A musician’s cameo provides some amusement as well. It's hard to imagine what direction they will take with 2025's *Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy*, because it's surprising that they have made four of these—perhaps two (or one?) would have been enough. Nevertheless, this film from 2016 is enjoyable overall; though not quite reaching the heights of the first movie, as might be expected.
