The story centers on a doctor and a police detective investigating unusual events, discovering that innocent women are being assaulted by shapeshifting aliens seeking to reproduce with humans. They must work together to put an end to the attacks. Surprisingly, this film isn't terrible if you approach it with the right mindset. A significant positive is the entertaining and enjoyable level of sleaze present, which contributes to a rather pleasant experience. By depicting these incidents as rapes, the movie adopts a darker tone than typically found in films about insect-like aliens looking for mates; this combination creates a disturbing atmosphere, especially considering the requirement that the victims be virgins. This need generates some tense and suspenseful attacks throughout, starting with the initial assault on a woman walking home after a bad date, followed by an attack on a model in a studio and a shocking ambush at a nurse’s house where her date is eliminated without her knowledge before she turns to see the alien with bug eyes appear. The film features several well-executed attacks that lead up to the finale in underground tunnels, revealing the aliens' nest and a group of victims trapped in a pool of liquid while the shapeshifting creatures wait for them to mature. The ensuing battle to prevent their maturation is quite good, and the ending, which details how they are ultimately eliminated, is fairly unique. With plentiful nudity—nearly everything is shown from every woman in the cast—the film delivers some enjoyable moments within its exploitation genre; however, there’s not much else of value here. This stems from the obvious lack of funding, which makes it clear that this is a cheap and poorly-made production, with noticeable sets, limited locations, and scenes where characters stand around waiting for test results or discussing plans. These moments feel unrealistic and are overly frequent, detracting from the film’s overall quality. Another major drawback is the fake-looking makeup effects used for both the gore and the aliens; they appear flimsy and cartoonish, diminishing the impact of the deaths.
