Bruce Willis has a much bigger role than I anticipated in this film! He portrays Clay, a tough security officer with a fondness for alcohol, who’s responsible for maintaining order on a spaceship transporting the remaining people from Earth – now rendered uninhabitable – to a new planet. Meanwhile, Noah (Cody Kearsley) managed to sneak aboard so he could reunite with his girlfriend and is quickly caught by Clay. Clay agrees to grant him freedom during the roughly 80-day voyage while the rest of the ship’s personnel are in suspended animation. Those days turn out to be more chaotic than anyone expected, because someone brought a dangerous creature onto the vessel, which has now made its way into the body of one of the crew members. Chaos erupts as this alien-zombie hybrid begins spreading like an illness throughout the ship, destroying everything it encounters. Will they manage to find a solution? It’s not great, but thankfully it's not as terrible as I thought it might be. There is a basic storyline and familiar plot elements, and although the acting feels stiff and the dialogue is often silly, the events unfold adequately – though entirely unoriginal – for ninety minutes. The visual effects aren’t particularly noteworthy, and Willis seems to be enjoying himself. Be warned: the final moments hint that Anti Life II could possibly be in development!
