It had been seven years since the previous installment, and I’d practically forgotten about this series. I didn’t have time to refresh my memory beforehand, but watching this brought it all back. It felt noticeably different; clearly, they were aiming to revive the franchise with a straightforward plot. The story was quite predictable, though that wasn't really the focus. They needed a foundation to build on for future installments. Yuri Boyka was looking ahead to competing in a major tournament, but his previous fight ended badly. He secured victory by knockout, although his opponent didn’t survive the encounter. This left him emotionally shaken and wanting to set some things right. Now, just before the big event, he took an unexpected trip to Russia. The reasons behind this journey and what transpired there form the rest of the story, featuring some solid fight sequences and emotional moments. Scott Adkins delivered a strong performance; this film evoked comparisons to 'Rocky,' particularly due to its sentimental aspects. Combining that with the action set pieces worked well. A sense of familiarity was the film’s main drawback, even though I found it enjoyable. It's especially appealing for fans of Boyka and the ‘Undisputed’ series—they’re sure to appreciate it. This was a pleasant return to form, and I am hoping for better sequels on a larger scale. When will the next one be released? 6/10
