Boy Kills World combines familiar elements from martial arts action movies. It’s clearly influenced by films like "Kill Bill," which itself was intended as a humorous take on low-budget martial arts films from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The movie is easy enough to look at initially, but it feels rushed. This becomes clear when considering how the characters are developed and the dark humor that’s present. If the filmmakers had explored more fully the possibility of creating memorable, complex characters and made better use of its darkly comedic aspects, it might have gained a dedicated following. However, some of the violence seems excessive; for example, I found the inventive but awkward cheese grater scene to be too much. Ultimately, it's an accessible martial arts action film with references to older movies in the genre, but it doesn’t quite reach its potential due to shortcomings in character development and humor, as well as occasionally over-the-top violence.
