I’ve always felt like I remembered seeing these lions in a dream from when I was little. But then realizing that I must have actually seen the movie as a very young child, because some images stuck with me over the years. Seeing it again now brought back those feelings of being frightened. Yes, I was genuinely scared, just like the character Kendall. Childhood feels like a dream until we revisit things we experienced and held dear, which then stirs up memories after many years have passed and we've become adults. I really liked watching it because I love animals. However, I didn’t appreciate the parts where they showed harm to the animals. I don’t believe any animals were actually hurt during filming, and they cleverly edited out scenes that involved harming or killing them. The film was based on a true story, and in reality, those animals did die; this aspect of it was disappointing. Things have changed now, we've learned from our mistakes, so I hope we concentrate on protecting these amazing creatures so they can be born free and remain wild. Africa looked absolutely beautiful. It’s one of the best films about wild animals that I’ve ever seen. The narration felt like a documentary with a small story woven in involving a human couple. My respect goes out to the real Joy and George Adamson. It received a few Oscars for music and song, but I think it deserved even more recognition than that. I can't believe it got a PG rating; I was frightened watching it as a child, and I imagine children who understand what lions are really like would feel the same way. Still, I highly recommend it to people of all ages. We have 'Duma', 'Two Brothers', and others now, but this film is something different—you’ll see that for yourself when you watch it. 8/10
