Those who assume this resembles something like Superbad with female leads are mistaken; it goes far beyond that. At its heart, the film explores friendship, and while it shares familiar territory with other stories about growing up, it surpasses what's expected thanks to Olivia Wilde’s impressive direction and the performances of Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein. It's a movie centered on friendship, but also a tribute to youth and taking control of your own journey. Dever and Feldstein are fantastic, and Billie Lourd provides plenty of laughs too! Honestly, it’s been quite some time since I laughed so much, and unfortunately, it will likely be overlooked during awards season, though it absolutely warrants consideration for Best Picture; this is a film I'll always hold dear.
