_Bones and All_ stands out as a truly singular film experience. It manages to elicit feelings of revulsion alongside profound emotional responses, even bringing me close to tears. I didn’t realize I was looking for something quite like it. The characters' journey is significant both emotionally and geographically. I really enjoyed watching the leads travel across the country, following their instincts or whatever drew them along. There were some unsettling and intense situations that kept me captivated, but these moments were offset by more tender scenes between the two actors. These intimate interactions make up most of the film’s 2 hour and 20-minute length, and despite its considerable duration, it felt surprisingly quick; the pacing never dragged. A few scenes perhaps could have been trimmed to shorten things, but I believe they were important for developing the characters and completing the story. The movie consistently explores deep themes of morality. Seeing the characters grapple with their desires and needs was genuinely heartbreaking and felt very authentic. Even though the main characters are committing terrible acts, a sense of underlying shame emerges as one character comes to understand more about herself. These are difficult emotions to portray on screen, and the two leads handled them exceptionally well. Both Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet gave outstanding performances! I’ll admit that Timothée Chalamet was a major reason I wanted to see this movie; he did a great job, but he was surpassed by Taylor Russell. Her performance was truly remarkable, almost flawless! It's the first film of hers I’ve seen, and I was completely impressed. She absolutely deserves any recognition she receives for her work in this film. _Bones and All_ is a masterpiece that should be experienced in theaters.
