I thought this was really good. *Bolt* is just fun from beginning to end. The basic idea might seem strange when you read about it, and it definitely is, but the movie succeeds in being entertaining while also being funny and touching. The initial parts are exceptionally well-executed; when the secret gets revealed, things stumble for a little bit before quickly becoming quite enjoyable. It has a nice balance of adventure, genuine emotion, and humor that keeps things interesting. The actors do a great job as well. John Travolta (as Bolt) and Miley Cyrus (as Penny) are both very good in their parts, but Susie Essman really stood out to me – she delivers an outstanding performance as Mittens. The rest of the voice cast does commendable work too. I had a wonderful time watching this.
