Initially, I wasn’t impressed; it seemed rather ordinary, and I honestly didn’t know anything about this Blue Beetle character. The only thing that caught my attention was his sword, which reminded me of Final Fantasy. Then, shortly before its release, I noticed positive buzz and became intrigued. Immediately after seeing the film, my reaction was simply "Wow." Essentially, it wasn't to my taste. Blue Beetle feels like a superhero origin story blended with elements from Iron Man, Venom, and Spider-Man, along with a touch of the family themes found in Encanto or even Fast & Furious – take your pick. The most noticeable aspect is how awkward it felt at times: the humor didn't quite land, the visuals weren’t particularly strong, and the storyline seemed familiar—it all had a feel reminiscent of films from the early 2000s. It wasn't terrible, and there were moments when I enjoyed it; if you appreciate that kind of style, you’ll probably find some laughs. Still, it doesn’t elevate it to being genuinely good. On another note, while watching, I realized something: I consistently feel bored during the opening portion of movies. These introductions of characters and explanations seem geared toward viewers experiencing a film for the very first time. It's frustrating; regardless of whether I like the movie or not, I always find myself waiting for the action to truly start 🙁
