Jason Statham portrays Brant, an intense police officer who struggles to control his temper. He has a fondness for alcohol, enjoys confronting criminals physically, and frequently creates problems for his boss. The situation becomes deeply personal when a serial killer called Blitz (Aidan Gillen) begins targeting law enforcement personnel. Essentially, this film delivers exactly what you anticipate from a Statham vehicle; the title says it all: Cop Killer Vs Killer Cop! Expect numerous pursuits, combat sequences, witty remarks, an atmosphere of foreboding, and some playful moments thanks to Brant’s partnership with Officer Nash (Paddy Considine). Director Elliott Lester and cinematographer Rob Hardy employ a gritty color scheme that complements the London settings, while Ilan Eshkeri's score provides a driving rhythm. A secondary storyline featuring Zawe Ashton's recently released copper doesn’t add much substance to the overall narrative, and some aspects of Blitz’s methods require considerable suspension of disbelief (he seems careless about leaving fingerprints!). However, seeing Statham in action is frequently entertaining enough to make for an enjoyable experience. It earns a rating of 6.5/10.
